Meet Mr. Henley!

Mr. Henley is originally from Richmond, VA.  His musical career began with piano lessons in the second grade.  In the sixth grade, Mr. Henley began french horn at school and took private lessons.  He instantly fell in love with the sound of the horn, and has continued playing piano and horn throughout his college and adult life.

After high school, Mr. Henley attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music receiving an undergraduate degree in horn performance.  He remained in Oberlin for graduate school, receiving a Master's Degree in Music Teaching in 2012.  During his time in Oberlin, Mr. Henley had the opportunity to perform on tour with the Oberlin Symphony Orchestra at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA.

Mr. Henley has been teaching elementary band in Howard County for 11 years.  His career began at Hammond and Triadelphia Ridge ES, and most recently he was the instrumental music director at Worthington ES for the past 8 years.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Henley maintains a small private studio of piano students.  He is also the Director of Music and Liturgical Volunteers at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Fulton, MD.
